Top 3 life changing books
An open mind is the best way to approach these books BECAUSE they are not your traditional spiritual typa books, you may even react to some of the ideas that are shared.
For my part,I found many truths and many answers in each of these books and though the messages are essentially the same, they are communicated and presented from different angles.
Conversations with God: An Uncommon Dialogue, Book 1
by Neale Donald Walsch
This book CHANGED how I understand the meaning of life. It is the first book that I read that changed everything for me.
I was not expecting any of its content and I lost count of the number of aha moments that stemed from this book. I read Conversations with God at a time in my life where I was really looking for answers – because nothing seemed to make sense. This book was a completely new experience.
It will challenge your viewpoints, and can absolutely bring up resistance especially if you have very solid views on certain topics such as:
-the concept of good and bad and so forth.
This is a book that requires an open mind or at least a willingness to look at things from a different perspective.
The book explores notions such as:
-oneness, love, the illusion and game of this physical reality the concept of good and evil, the purpose of life, god, feelings and many more concepts.
Definetly worth a read, if you have always been curious about the meaning of life on a deeper level this book may well change your life forever!
The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment
by Eckhart Tolle
I remember picking up this book when I was 21. I was at the airport awaiting to take my flight to France and as I was passing time through the aisles of the airport’s bookstore (as you do when you are a book nerd). The Power of Now, grabbed my attention. I read the back cover, liked what it said, purchased it. I attempted to read it during the flight, didn’t understand a word of it, closed it and never touched it again… until years later. I need to point out that purchasing The Power of Now was my very FIRST ‘spiritual’ book.
It was not until 10 years later that I was ready to read it again. I am not sure at what moment but during that 10 year period I read many other wonderful books, ones that were easier for me to understand. It was a gradual process, getting the concept of living in the present moment never made much sense to me up until a couple of years ago.
The Power of Now is now one of my favourite books! I also have in audio form and I LOVE listening to it in my car and I also put it on low volume at night. Did I say how much I love this book?
The Power of Now talks about the importance of presence. How thoughts affect our reality and how it contributes to our pain and suffering.
Though its concept seems somewhat simple, or simplistic, do not be fooled. Being present is a practice in and of itself. Even more so in a society where distraction reigns supreme. Where we are constantly bombarded by entertainment and where everything is aimed at getting us to be anything but present. Being present is much much much harder to apply than you would imagine. If you don’t believe it, I’d encourage you to check out this book and try it for yourself.
